Hey Pall Mall,

It's actually intended to be used across many languages, this is just where I made it.

So, if you want to use it for the mainpage here, it would be better if you copied it instead of translating it at that page.

request[edit source]

Hello! I`ve got one request for you. I collect words in various languages. Now I`m looking for word "sugar" in other languages, but I can`t find a Norfolk dictionary. I`ve got counterparts of word "sugar" in Japanese, Ahmaric, Thai, Georgian and Chinese, so can you write me what is "sugar" in Norfolk language? I`ve got this word in 281 languages and dialects of many regions and countries in the world so it is very important for me! Thank you very much! Szoltys <talk>

Re: Adminship[edit source]

Hi there! Sorry about the "he", since in Spanish we do not have a neutral gender (and use the male when it is unknown), I used it on you. Thanks for the offer, but I believe that every Wikipedia should have active administrators that are able to dominate the local language, otherwise their utility is greatly reduced. I [try to] keep watch on every Wikipedia, and whenever one appears to be targeted often, I step in and tickle around some counter measures so that whenever the local administrators come back, they don't find a big mess around. Good luck! -- ReyBrujo 04:31, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Racibórz[edit source]

The "Princest Raciborskie" is either a hoax or a fringe idea. To my best knowledge, the Duchy of Racibórz doesn't exist since 1666 [1]. You can safely delete the info from the article. Regards, Mciura

Could you please write a stub http://pih.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w – just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w ? Only 3-5 sentences enough. Please.

PS. Article about Kurów is already on 196 languages and dialects. If you do that, please put interwiki link into English version. If your village/town/city isn't yet on PL wiki, I can do article about it. (I'm first author of requests). Pietras1988 TALK 08:11, 7 Juulai 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably I wrote to you "thank you" in other place but I'm not sure so I write here - thank you for your perfect article about Kurów! Pietras1988 TALK 18:27, 22 Febyuweri 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gratitude[edit source]

Thankyou so much Pall Mall for helping me fix that article into the Norfuk Grammar and spelling. I am very grateful. May Norfuk Wikipedia prosper!

In answer to your question, I had received translation help from native speakers who contribute on Wikipedia.

For example, the Novial translation was obtained through the kind help of User:Novialiste while the Hawaiian version was translated by User:Hardwire (The church also exists in Hawaii).
The Greenlandic translation was obtained from their local website: http://www.oqaasileriffik.gl/

In the future if you ever need your favourite article to be translated into the Chinese language then I would be glad to help you. --Jose77 10:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of/to List of countries in Norfolk.[edit source]

May you please translate the country names to Norfolk when you get some free time.

Sorry, can you translate this onto norfuk? "Almazán is a municipality located in the province of Soria, Castile and León, Spain." --Jeneme 19:01, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But I don't speak this language. I can make articles about Spanish or European cities. What do you think that they are the first articles we must translate? I can add templates, categories but I can't make long articles. If it was a template for countries here, I could make articles about contries but, please, translate the list. --Nulf 21:37, 14 Jaenyuweri 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Villages[edit source]

Perhaps we could make first articles about one Autonomous Community, starting by Castilla y León. My level of this language is 0 and, I you want, we can make a group of translation. You could do the long articles and I could make stubs. (It's only cut and copy, changing information about population and areas. --Nulf 18:36, 7 Febyuweri 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brisbane Wikimania[edit source]

Hi there,

As we discussed, Brisbane is bidding for Wikimania. If you're interested in offering your support, please add your name to this list:

I would have added you myself, but I wanted to be sure you were still interested. Thanks, and please excuse the English. Lankiveil 22:40, 22 Febyuweri 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Can I ask a favour?[edit source]

Hi! I created a logo for the Pitkern wikipedia, except for it to activated it needs to be protected, and as an admin your the only one who could do that so could you go to wiki.png and make it protected? theres a protected option on the top menu bar of the image, it needs to be set to sysops only. thanks, Mikewazhere 22:06, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit source]

thanks for that. I still can't get it up as the official logo though, the text needs to be in Hoefler, which is a font I don't have. I'll try to find someone who can change the text into Hoefler. --Mikewazhere 00:04, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article translation/collaboration request[edit source]

Hi Pall Mall, how are you? Mate, I am trying to find an editor/s who can help by translating User:Russavia/Polandball into Norfuk. I was wondering if we could make a trade?

If you could translate that article into Norfuk for me, I would be happy to upload whatever Norfolk Island-related aviation photos to Commons from amongst the 200,000 I have permission to upload. I will keep a gallery at User:Russavia of photos uploaded. The number may not be huge (perhaps a dozen in total), but I do have access to several thousands Australian-related aviation photos, so perhaps I could do whatever Norfolk Island-related photos I can find, and then make up the difference to up to 30-40 photos in total from Australian-related aviation photos.

Would you be interested in such a "trade"? Do let me know, either by responding here, or on my talk page, or by emailing me. Cheers, Russavia (talk) 03:33, 19 Juulai 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Need a hand at all?[edit source]

I am the rollbacker at another very small project, scowiki, which has around 3 active editors.
We receive the same sort of odd translation requests there that you are getting here.
(You are thinking, How does this suggestion have any relevance for me, my language, or my islands? I know the feeling.)

So, do you need help with anything? Setting up templates? Documentation?
A lot of your articles are created by formula. Ours too. Do you need more of those? (Not really?)

Norfuk is a creole; it is not hard to read.
You might check for me in Dem Riisent Chayng.

Your administrator status on the Pitkern and Norfolk Wikipedia[edit source]

Hello. A policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus in 2013. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.

You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on the wiki listed above. Since that wiki does not have its own rights review process, the global one applies.

If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights.

If you wish to resign your rights, you can reply here or request removal of your rights on Meta.

If there is no response at all after approximately one month, stewards will proceed to remove your administrator and/or bureaucrat rights. In ambiguous cases, stewards will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact the stewards.
